About the role

Brainsquare India is looking for a Senior Java/Oracle Support Engineer to lead our enterprise application-support track. In this hands-on leadership role you will coordinate day-to-day 2nd-line support, mentor a small team, and drive technical improvements. Roughly 75 % of your time will focus on production-support activities (incident handling, RCA, process improvement), while the remaining 25 % is allocated to small-scale Java & PL/SQL development or enhancement work.

Your main tasks

  • Lead 2nd-line ticket queues, SLA compliance, shift scheduling, and escalations.

  • Mentor junior engineers and review root-cause analyses.

  • Deliver hands-on resolutions, Java/PLSQL bug fixes, and performance tuning.

  • Liaise with 3rd-line development, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.

  • Drive automation, monitoring improvements, and knowledge-base expansion.

  • Maintain support documentation and onboard new team members.

Job requirements

What we are looking for in you

  • 5 + years in Java/Oracle application support, including team guidance.

  • Proven depth in Oracle PL/SQL, SQL tuning, Java support & troubleshooting.

  • Experience leading or mentoring support staff and handling escalations.

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and tools (Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, monitoring).

  • Comfortable working in rotational shifts and flexible availability for support.

  • Strong English communication; capable of stakeholder management across time-zones.

Nice to have

  • Background in large-scale logistics or supply-chain solutions.

  • Automation / scripting (Shell, Python) and CI/CD exposure.

  • Experience introducing support KPIs and continuous-improvement initiatives.
